Trade Tip

LTT 16979

Written by  on October 23, 2014

Stellar Cartographics Record Breakers used to list  LTT 16979 as the most populated Independent system in the Galactic Pill with a decent population of 1.2 billion people. However that title recently fell to Eta Cephei after an updated census.

In system trade here is busy, with a grand total of seven stations competing for business.

A quad star system with a binary pair at the jump point. The system is inhabited with a large station and two outposts to serve your refueling or trade needs. The galactic grapevine talks of plentiful missions on the local boards with nearby systems facilitating easy trade.

The system has become a favourie with young space jockeys and their hotted up star burners as they call them. You drop in at a binary pair and often have a very tempting gap showing between them to ‘burn’ through, of course get it wrong and the heat burns through you. So definitely a sport for the young and stupid.

The three star system is absolutly massive with 61 known objects, from gas giants to clusters of moons. the system is fiercly independent and what government there is is anarchic. This provides the perfect base for large scale manufacture of narcotics. Sightseers frequently find themselves so spaced out on the ‘HIP juice’ as it’s known locally that they wake up with a third arm and a missing kidney.

For planet spotters, the system holds a number of records in the Stellar Cartographics Record Breakers hall of fame including the title for system with most Gas Giants of which there are 10.

Miola

A tiny colony in 3195, Miola expanded rapidly as part of the ‘Freeborn’ movement. In 3265, an outbreak of fever stemming from a rescued pilot in Harris Hospital decimated the planetary population, turning the settlement into a ghost town. Ironically now only the space station is now occupied.

The system imports and exports Gold, even in the modern age there are settlements practising alchemy it seems.

Standard Class G plus a Class Y star, lots of icy planets, a couple of gas giants, an earth like planet, a rocky planet and 2 more with high metal content.

Dahan

Trade data for the Dahan system points to reasons for their exploding population. A high demand for Clothing, and a large supply of Liquor has resulted in a lot of naked people running around drunk, the results are predictable, and a lot of fun.

Chapovo

A craving for fish fuels high demand at Peano Reserve who seem to be stockpiling Coffee and Tea for trade.

Adepti

If you’re wondering where all the fish have gone, look no further than to Lysenko ring in the Adepti system.  It’s only a short hyperspace jump from here to the Chapovo system where demand is high at Peano Reserve.

Hyperion

Hyperion is an Independent system with a population of 4 billion that is worth visiting for it’s active economy and incredible sights. 8 Planets, 2 major ports and two stations all within 100ls of the sun.

One of the smallest known Gas giants is here, Hyperion 10 A, 9,681 km diameter, Mass 1.2376. ‘It’s sooo dinky!’ said the famed pirate Ziph the very Grumpy.

Rumours of a black market here have seen a large number of ships entering the system with Tobacco from nearby Eta Cephei

Recreational tip: The winter space Olympics in the ice rings of Hyperion 6 are a spectacular annual event.

Eta Cephei

Written by  on October 10, 2014

Has a Bright G Class Star.

2.6 Billion people living in this independent Agricultural democracy but no Garden worlds, only 4 Orbis Stations in around the four Mercury like planets.

Eta Cephei is known to supply large quantities of tea and coffee which are in demand over in Aulin and only ~31 light years point to point, but they also sell Tobacco, illegal in many systems and in high demand in nearby Hyperion.
